At any one time, we have four to five young women employed to craft and design jewelry.

How can I buy the jewelry?

Why aren’t all your funds directed to helping young women in the United States?
In addition to improving the lives of the girls in our mentoring program, we think it is as equally important to improve the welfare of young women in countries around the world for the following reasons:

• Our mentees gain a new perspective and appreciation for the opportunities available to them in the US when they learn about enormous hardship facing young women in third world countries - they move from victim to activist.
• Our mentees feel empowered that the jewelry that they make with their hands is raising money to improve the lives of young girls abroad.
• Hands of Change believes that education is the key to eliminating the violence, ignorance and poverty which are so prevalent in many third world and transitional countries. We believe that improving the educational welfare of young people in third world countries, will lead to self-sufficiency and a more tolerant society in the long run, and in turn, less reliance on economic aid from the US.
