Hands of Change uses sterling silver and gold filled wire and components. Gold filled jewelry has a thick layer of 14k gold over a small core of base metal and will not tarnish. Cleaning gold is fairly easy - just use warm soapy water and wipe dry. Sterling silver will tarnish over time, so regular cleaning is important with commercial cleaner and store in plastic baggies or a jewelry box.
